John
Vernon McGee was born in Hillsboro, Texas state, in
1904, USA.
Dr. McGee received his A.B. from Southwestern University in
Memphis, his B.D. from Columbia Theological Seminary in
Decatur, his Th.M. and Th.D. from Dallas
Theological Seminary in Dallas, Texas. He pastored
Presbyterian churches in Decatur, Georgia; Nashville,
Tennessee; Cleburne, Texas; and Pasadena, California; as
well as interdenominational Church of the Open Door in Los
Angeles, California, from which he retired in 1970 after 21
years of ministry.
When
retired in 1967 J.V. McGee set up a radio service which began
to expand rapidly. Today the program airs on over 400
stations each day in the United States and Canada. Besides,
this program translated to more than 100 languages and is
being broadcasted worldwide.
On the 1st of December 1988,
when calmly asleep in his chair, J.V.McGee
left to Lord, but his
service continues.
